"Nice. Ignore the screwdriver guy." 2009-10-11

Here's how easy it is to get it off your Ipod.

While, I'm not surprised damage occurred because a reviewer used a screwdriver(lol)on his Ipod, I am surprised that the fact that if fits tightly can be reason to to slam a product. The reason you buy these is because they fit, period. Memo, make sure your hands don't have french fry grease on you when you take off the case.

Buy this case. Nice fit and nice protection.....

I recieved a 32 GB itouch 3 gen and it fits perfectly. You have to be careful with what type of screen protector you use with your touch because small air bubbles build at the connection point for the case. But it fits and adds almost no bulk to the case!

I spent a long time doing research @ iLounge and @ the Apple store before settling on this case. Most cases for the iPod Touch are overpriced and trade off protectiveness for convenience or vice versa. The Slider is no exception - it provides a certain degree of protection from scratches and some mild shock absorbency, but it's not something that'll allow you to throw your iPod willy-nilly into a bag or backpack. However, the case has several features to recommend it - a nice feel so that the Touch doesn't slide from my hands while I'm playing Smule's ocarina app and an easily removable bottom cover so that I can dock it in a older speaker that leaves no extra space for a case. Once the Touch has been in the case for awhile, it becomes difficult to remove, but not that hard if you grip the bottom with a rubber glove or rubber jar lid opener. I had no trouble using the case in conjunction with my screen protector - Power Support Crystal film set for iPod touch 2G. I also slipped a loop of lanyard between the iPod and the case so that the loop protrudes from the back of the case between the top and bottom sections (see photo). The fit is tight enough so that I can attach a neck cord to the loop and feel confident that the iPod won't hit the ground if I drop it while playing the ocarina app. My WiFi finder app indicates a slight loss of wifi signal strength when the iPod is in the case.

 "Already paid for itself" 2009-08-26

After watching the iphone drop test videos on Youtube, I wasn't sure about going with or without a case. On one hand, having a case would perhaps offer protection; on the other hand, I really like the iphone's original look and feel in my hand, and I was afraid that having a case that wraps around it would make it look bulkier. With this doubt in my mind, I nonetheless picked up the incase slider and wanted to give it a try. The feel of the case is great. The extra bulk actually makes it feel like you are gripping something more substantial that has a lower risk of falling out of your hand. The matte black finish feels like velvet and doesn't attract any dust. The fit is very tight and it is not easy to remove the bottom piece; to remove the top piece I actually have to push the phone via the earphone hole on the case using some other object (like the back of a pencil). But I only use the cable that came with the phone to charge it and would not be taking the case off very often.

I also thought that the price is a little too high, until the phone slipped out of my shirt pocket and fell onto the pavement while I was exiting a taxi on my last trip. Surprisingly, I could not find even scruff marks on the case (think the phone landed on its back) and of course the phone was doing fine. This incident convinced me that a case is an absolute necessity and the money spent on the incase slider is a worthwhile investment (particularly if you want to sell the phone in two years on eBay).

"probably the best ipod touch case out there..." 2009-07-04

This case might be the best ipod case I have ever owned... and I've purchased at least 5 different cases for various ipods over the years. It is incredibly sturdy and has a very snug fit (but isn't too difficult to get on and off, which is a huge plus if you have various docks and car mounts like I have). Best of all, and I cannot stress this enough... it is VERY low-profile... which means your ipod is still going to feel great in your hand and will still slide easily into your pocket.

I am very impressed with this case and was lucky to get a significantly marked-down unit at my local retailer.... I would never have forked over the thirtyish-dollar retail price otherwise. Personally, I think it is prohibitively expensive (the only reason for the 4 stars)... and I don't see why incase is not opening up their target market by dropping the price... but hey, I'm not running the company.

If you want the best hardshell case on the market... and if price is no option, don't hesitate to get this case... if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, I would strongly suggest a silicone skin with the most coverage... the silicone skins that just hug the edges do NOT fit well in my experience.

happy shopping!
